Audi A8 LWB confirmed for the UK

Audi has announced the release of the long-wheelbase A8 is entered in the United Kingdom. The A8 L will increase by 130 mm long for a standard car to “offer a unique bed for the passengers” in comparison, the company said.

Five power options – a 3.0-liter TDI with 247bhp, 4.2-liter TDI with 345bhp, 3.0-liter TFSI 286bhp, 4.2-liter FSI with 367bhp and the top end and exclusive A8 L W12 6.3-liter FSI with 493bhp and an impressive 461 pounds-feet of torque.

The height range is limited to the A8 L at 60 mph in 4.7sec start, all the way up to 155 mph. According to Audi achieved 22.8mpg – an improvement of around nine percent over the previous model – and emit 290g/km. The extra length to accommodate the wider doors for the rear passengers, the “assisted closure”with respect to the W12 version.

Inside, the rear seats are heated – two individual seats are adjustable for W12 – and an automatic climate control system upgrade is also included, along with electric blinds. Prices from £ 60.010 for the A8 L model entry-level to £ 94.460 for the range topping, double glazing, W12. The first examples are now reaching showrooms in the United Kingdom.
